The Austin American-Statesman’s 2024 All-Central Texas baseball team was just announced. Congratulations to sophomore Connor Comeau for receiving Newcomer of the Year. From the Statesman: In what will be his only season in Class 6A with the Trojans dropping to 5A for the next two-year cycle, Comeau broke onto the scene in impressive fashion as a sophomore, hitting .343 with an OBP of .430 and 20 RBIs. This is Ed’s third straight All-Centex First Team honor. From the Statesman: OF: Ed Small, jr., Anderson: In Ed’s last prep baseball season — he plans to enroll early at TCU in January for spring football — he hit a stunning .432 with an OBP of .505 to help the Trojans stay in the playoff race in a rugged District 26-6A. Big 12-0 District W tonight capped off by a 2-run pinch hit DOM BOMB in the top of the 5th! Ethan David struck out the side in the bottom of the inning to send everyone home early. David gave up just one hit and had 8 strikeouts to continue his stellar season on the mound.
